Tesla shares a video of dog mode and a cabin camera that will keep your dog cool or warm and safe in your Tesla while you are out.

Dog Mode in a Tesla

Tesla's are some of the safest vehicles on the planet. They have been crash tested and received 5 star safety reviews from NHTSA. What you may not know is that they are also pet friendly.

Tesla's have a mode you can put your car in called dog mode. What does this mean? It means that if you have a dog and you need to leave him or her in your car, you can put your car to a setting called dog mode.

When you put your car in dog mode, it, by default, sets the temperature to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. It also puts a message on the center screen that says my driver will be back soon and that the AC is on.

Your dog will be comfortable in your car while you are gone and others won't worry if your dog is going to be OK - whether it be really hot outside or really cold outside. You can also watch your dog in your car through the Tesla app on your phone.

A Variety of Features and Modes for a Tesla

Tesla vehicles have a variety of features and modes you can put your car in. Dog mode is just one of them. Camp mode is another feature that puts your car in a low Energy usage state and makes a campfire appear on the center screen.

There have been many cases where someone has left a dog in a hot car and people have left notes on the car being concerned about the dog. This will never happen with dog mode and a Tesla.

There was a feature request that someone asked for on the Tesla vehicle that asked if the dog could also see the owner through the Tesla app on the phone and I think that is a great idea! It would also be nice to be able to talk to your dog. Maybe Tesla will add this feature.

What do you think about dog mode for a Tesla vehicle? Is this a valuable feature?
